SubCoolFM are delighted to have been awarded the full mechanical and electrical services package as part of the grand design of Woodlands, based in Colgate between Crawley and Horsham. This project will include multiple renewable energy sources as part of an environmentally conscious build.
SubCoolFM will be involved in delivery of:
- A full home automation system including the control for a KEFF sound system.
- Air heating and cooling MVHR system throughout – Mitsubishi or Daikin equipment, yet to be confirmed
- Ground source heat pumps
- Installation of Solar thermal system
This fantastic build will have 8 bedrooms and a full basement and is quite a project. SubCool will be creating custom outlet grills for each room to ensure they blend in and look aesthetically pleasing.
Jacob Swei director at SubCoolFM says, “We really excited to be part of such a major home build project, especially with all the leading renewable technology the owners are incorporating. There are lots of challenges, but this will be an amazing property and incredibly energy efficient given its scale.”
What is MVHR?
It stands for mechanical ventilation with heat recovery. There is a description of this on our Commercial air conditioning webpage, but in short in it an increasingly popular system that will both heat and cool an entire property with great efficiency. It also ensures the indoor air is clean and free from allergens and pollutants – this is another key factor it is popularity.
It recovers heat that would otherwise be wasted and works on a smart system that keeps building cool in summer and warm in the winter.
Project Now in Progress
Work has now started and this great project is well under way. The SubCool FM engineers have been busy getting a water-cooled VRF installed to a very tight deadline.
Planning the design for the whole property
Being involved from the design offset has helped SubCool FM plan the very best system for the entire property and ensure it fits in seamlessly with other features and trades.
Ground floor living spaces
With some large open-plan living spaces from front to back connecting relaxing areas and kitchen along with a number of separate lounges and living spaces, we have to ensure the flow of air throughout, along with the ability to set different climates in different spaces.
First floor bedrooms and bathrooms
Units have been hidden away in the rafters for maximum discretion and impact.
The mega basement
The basement footprint in this build is bigger than the other floors and comprises a vast open space, along with cinema area and major plant room that needs to keep the extensive equipment cool.
