Wall mounted units

Wall mounted units are incredibly popular and provide the most common residential air conditioning solution. These units have come a long way, and offer a stylish (available in many colours), efficient and easy to install climate control system. They are are usually straightforward to retrofit into a property. Most offer cooling, dehumidifying and heating options too, making them multi-purpose and also great for outbuildings and extensions. They require an outdoor unit too. Multiple indoor units can work from one outdoor unit on a multi-split system. There are a range of brands on the market, and we have installed most of them so can advise according to your specific visual, functional and filtration requirements. Many offer wifi options and can be controlled from a mobile phone.

Ducted air conditioning

This is becoming increasingly more popular and involves a central unit which is typically installed in a loft / roof space. It works by channelling air from this central unit through ducts into the rooms where cooling is required – usually up to 6. You can control different zones / rooms separately. In a new build or extension, the system can also be fitted into the ceiling if required. This means no unit needs to be fitted to the wall, but discreet vents are used in their place. They also have wifi and remote access options.

Floor mounted

These units are similar in function to the wall-mounted ones, but are ideal where wall height is restricted, perhaps by eaves in a loft conversion for example, or where no straight walls are available. With heat rising and improved modern insulation, loft conversions are prime candidates for air conditioning and cooling systems. The air flows out of the top of these units, rather than the bottom as for the wall-mounted ones.

2 AC units downstairs and 1 AC unit with 5 ducts upstairs. “Jacob and the Sub-Cool Team are truly outstanding! Jacob helped us select the appropriate AC units to have installed, explained how the system would work, even agreed that we could have the downstairs fitted first and then upstairs a few months later. They even swept, tidied up after themselves, and even cleaned up my loft! Very professional and I would highly recommend.”
